What Happened Over the Last Few Days

Last day in Egypt! This is what happend over the last few days. Sitting at home with our cousins and going shopping to buy whatever we want and having big family gatherings.

That's why I don't have much to write about but we are all sad to leave Egypt. We can't believe it is our last day in Egypt!

Last time at Left Bank and last family  photo!

Cairo Again

We have left Alexandria and have arrived back in Cairo. Sorry for not keeping up but we go to bed so late. 😑

Yesterday we left the house and had our first McDonald's in Egypt. Then we found out there was a huge dust storm in Cairo so we had to fight that.

We arrived late at night and were greeted by our cousins then we went to bed then woke the next morning.

The next day we had breakfast at the most delicious restaurant called the Left Bank then we went to Cairo Tower and the view was great! It's like Sydney tower but looking out on Cairo. We went to have dinner at somewhere called Olivo, a pizza shop then had donuts for dessert then we went on a boat ride on the river Nile.

PS. Utch, Aunty Tash pointed  out a telephone tower that was a palm tree! In?

Here is my great aunt and uncle waving us goodbye

Here is us and my cousin, Leo, at Left Bank.

Here is the pool we went to

There are no rules in Egypt so you can sit wherever in the car because there are no seat belts. You can even stand up and walk!

Here is the view from Cairo Tower

And this is the boat ride. I've got a chocolate donut in my hand.

The Zoo

Today we visited Alexandria Zoo which doesn't have a lot of animals. There are good sides such as you can hold baby lions for almost nothing at all. You can feed all the animals with no supervision including lions! We fed seals and monkeys and held lion cubs. It was the best!

Here is us feeding monkeys.

Holding the lions

And feeding seals.

Here is us in a train ride.

This is a Fortress we saw.

Here is us at Pizza Hut.

The Hotel

Today we went to a hotel and spent our whole day at the beach. That's why I don't have much to tell you. But the beach was amazing and there were fish everywhere! And the weather was the best, not too hot and not too cold.

This is the beach

Here is the view from our balcony. You can go out on to the path there and jump into the water!

Here is downstairs of our hotel.

Here is up stairs of our hotel.

The Beach

Today we went to the beach and had the time of our lives! The other group of people came from Cairo as they felt a bit better.

PS The mosque is driving us crazy because it's so loud and wherever we are there's no real mosque but there's really loud speakers with the chanting!

PPS I'm not going to write a lot from now on because we stay up so late.

This is the beach in Alexandria.

Here is the fireworks that dad lit. Mum has a really bad habit of not taking videos.

Another part of Egypt

After leaving at 4 pm and a 3 hour journey to Alexandria we are all very tired because it is 9 pm. We had rice and soup for dinner. The people who are the sickest have to stay home so only Kate, me, Phoebe, Juliet, Mohsen, Rana and Amal are here.

Here is the panorama

Saturday 20 June 2015

Sick, Sick,Sick But One Person's Well

We are all very sick but one tiny little baby isn't, which is very strange. Amina the baby, Kate, my cousin, Rana and my aunty, Amal are the only people who don't have the virus. Shireen, Carmel, me, Phoebe, Juliet, Mohsen and Bahia are all sick. Everyone is waking up at midnight and they are vomiting or have diahhrea. Even the cat, Jui jui is sick!
The good thing is we are leaving for Alexandria and the beach!

Amina's not sick!

Neither is Kate!

MORE Cousins

Today we visited more cousins and had dinner with them and played with 'bomb' and firecrackers. This is also where Jason and Shireen visited when they grew up. I'm so tired so I can't write more. We go to bed so late.

Here is Egyptian sweets. They are my favorite!

Here is an eighth of my family but there's heapppppppppppppppppppppps more

Here is us with firecrackers. Even Juliet was lighting them!

And more food

The Markets and then the Nile

When we woke up this morning we found out that Phoebe and Juliet were sick. Later on we went to the markets but it was just me, Shireen, Jason and Carmel. We bought souvenirs and gifts at the markets.

When we came home and Mohsen's cousins came and we had dinner. Then Shireen, Jason, our cousins, my aunt, Mohsen's cousins and I went to the Nile at night. Phoebe and Juliet stayed with Kate and Carmel because they were sick.

We had drinks then we went home and played with "bomb" the Arabic word for fireworks. You throw it at the ground as hard as you can and it explodes! We also had firecrackers.

Here is a pic of me standing on a lion.

Here is Jason on the bridge crossing the river Nile.

Here is the tourists' shop at the markets.

Here is the food.

Camping in the Desert

Today we visited my OTHER cousins in a city outside of Cairo. We had lunch with them then we went to see the building of the new Suez Canal.

But the line to get back across was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
long!

So we waited an hour and a half for our turn and all the adults were so stressed but all the kids loved it! We lived on chips and fanta because we had nothing else to eat.

The drive back to Cairo was 3 hours away so we we were all sleeping in the car.

That's only half the queue for the boat

That's my cousin Amina playing with a chick at my cousins' house.

This is us going across the FIRST time.

This is our very traditional lunch.

The Pyramids

Today we visited the pyramids of Giza and they were amazing! We went into tombs and rode camels. When we got on the camels they were so big and they were so rough and stinky. The men hit them a lot. I was thinking of grabbing the whip from one of them and whipping them!! Afterwards we had dinner with my other cousins.

Here is the tomb.

Here is a photo where it looks like I'm holding the Pyramid but really I'm 10 km away from it.

Here is me and my cousin on the camel.

Here is what we had for dinner tonight - Koshari.
