Zein’s Mini Adventure

Ok, this time we’re not in Paris or Rome, but we ARE in Uluru! We caught our first glimpse of the rock when we were flying in from Sydney. When we arrived, we went to have lunch, (potatoe gnocchi, green curry, bread rolls and fruit) then checked in to our room ( each room has it’s own tv, to Juliet’s delight.) After a three hour swim in the pool, we got dressed and drove to the Uluru sunset viewing. We spent about an hour there while dad talked to some of his colleagues and we had some snacks. We got up so close to the rock and it is amazing!  We got back in the car and ordered take away before collapsing into bed.

The next day, we woke up at 6:45, and drove down to the buffet, which was incredible! There was fruit, bacon, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, muesli, donuts, lots of other pastries, and toast, just to name a few. After breakfast, Kate, Phoebe, Juliet and I drove to the Uluru- Kata Tjuta National Park to see the Mutitjulu water hole, which was BEAUTIFUL!! After that we walked to the cultural center and learned about Anangu culture and then looked at some art works. We then drove to the camel farm and bought some food to feed the baby camel, buffalo, and emu. After that we got to ride the camels, which was so much fun! After spending some time in the gift shop, we went back to the resort where we had lunch, then spent an hour in the pool. Whew!

  2. Twice as good!
Paka wants to know if you got sea sick on the camels. Afterall they ARE called "the ships of the desert".
Enjoy your time there. It looks amazing.

If you get a chance to sit quietly at the muti waterhole for at lest 30 min, the sounds are magical!
