Kowloon Park

Today we woke up at six thirty but Jason was sick so we stayed home for a bit. At about nine thirty Kate, Phoebe, Juliet and I went to have breakfast at 'studio caffeine' then walked to Kowloon park. The good thing about the park is that it is only about ten minutes walk from our place. When we walked in we saw there was a swimming pool and decided we would come after lunch for a swim. We had a play on the children's playground then tried to find the maze. On the way we found the aviary which had all different kinds of cockatoos, rhinoceros hornbills, an amazing species of a pigeon and lots of different parrots. To get to the maze you had to cross a bridge over a pond and in the pond were flamingos! We stayed there for a little while then found the maze and navigated our way through it. After that we decided to go home to have lunch then we came back for a swim. We had Chinese for dinner and saw some amazing sights of the city then had ice cream sandwiched between cookies for dessert. When we got home we all went straight to bed.

  1. Thanks for the durian fruit pic. What I want to know is, if they smell so awful why would anyone eat them?
The icecream sandwich looks much more appealing.
For such a small place they sure do everything big. the swimming pool is huge.
I hope Jason has recovered from his illness.

    1. I think they eat it because it gives them good visual memory. Otherwise they could never remember the Chinese letters love Phoebe

    2. That was just one of the swimming pools mum. It is such an ordered place, Hong Kong. You are surrounded by 20 - 30 story apartment buildings but somehow streets, parks, shops, subway is relatively empty. I think they are just excellent at ordering themselves. We haven't seen a single traffic jam or waited anywhere for anything for very long - maximum 2 minutes. Love Kate

  3. Wow Liv, you would have loved the aviary. What on earth flavour is that ice cream?
Maybe you're right Phoebs, Chinese does look awfully hard to learn.
What flavour ice cream did you have Juliet? I think someone should type a post in from you soon.

  4. Sounds Fun! On your way back you should try some Durian fruit, so you can tell Nana what it tastes like. Apparently it is delicious, if you can get past the smell.

    1. Yes although you don't see many birds on the street in Hong Kong apart from sparrows which aren't very exiting
