Catching cray fish
Boating on the Thames
From chilly Melbourne that all looks and sounds like a wonderful dream!
ReplyDeleteWow! that sounds action packed and lots of fun! who caught the fish? and who cleaned and cooked it?
ReplyDeleteOur friend Tegan, Chenoa, Pepina, me, Juliet and Phoebe and Christin cooked them
DeleteWe make the fishing line with a string and tie a rock to it and then we add a little bit of salami meat to it and throw it in. Then we go to the playground for a while because it has to be absolutely silent for them to come out. When we come back most of the time the crayfish is on the line. Then we get the net and scoop it up or, the more tricky way, pull it up really slowly through the water and then fast on land. We only catch the really pesky American ones with the white bits on them because they eat all the native crayfishes food. The other way we know the American ones is that they are much bigger than the native ones. They are pests. We do this every day.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're looking after the environment even when you're overseas.
